Costa nominated for state Outstanding Vocational Student

Diman is pleased to announce that Sabrina Costa is our nominee as the Massachusetts Outstanding Vocational Technical High School Student, sponsored each year by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators and the Massachusetts Vocational Association.
 
The 30th Annual Massachusetts Outstanding Vocational Technical High School Student banquet will happen on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.
 
Costa is the daughter of Victor and Cidalia Costa, and was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts. She is currently ranked 7th in her class of 338 students with a grade point average of 3.84. Sabrina has earned highest honor recognition throughout her tenure at Diman and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. She is a recipient of a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, along with a Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.
 
Sabrina is a three-sport varsity athlete, excelling in soccer, basketball and track. She is a three-year Fall River Herald News and Mayflower League All-Scholastic in soccer. In 2013 and 2015, Sabrina was named the Mayflower Athletic Conference’s Most Outstanding Player for soccer. Additionally, she was also recognized for her sportsmanship, as she was awarded a Mayflower Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award for Track and Field in 2015.
 
Sabrina is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Tural Pediatrics in Fall River, Massachusetts. She has also donated her limited time to promote worthwhile causes including the annual Walk for Hunger and Miles for Smiles events. Sabrina has been accepted to the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth for the fall of 2016, majoring in Nursing.
