FALL RIVER - Twelve students and four advisors attended the annual SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Conference in Marlboro, MA from Sunday, November 19 - Monday, November 20, 2023. Students participated in leadership training with over five hundred vocational students throughout the state as well as heard from business and industry keynote speakers.
Michael Mosher (Advanced Manufacturing) was selected to participate on a panel consisting of eight students chosen from many within the state who earned a gold medal at the 2023 National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. All students learned the value of SkillsUSA, vocational training, and the SkillsUSA frameworks while competing within specific leadership areas.
Arianna Chase (Culinary Arts), Jameson Carriero (Drafting), and Gloria Moniz (Health Assisting), along with Mr. Sweet and Ms. Reynolds, participated in a live community service project creating bookshelves for the MetroWest YMCA. Arianna and Jameson both earned a safety award credential while participating. Tristan Tavares (Graphic Communications) and Karley Kaliff (Graphic Communications) earned silver medals in personal skills for their group's presentation.
Mr. Sweet led a community service project group in workplace skills and earned a bronze medal for his group's presentation. Ms. Reynolds earned two gold medals for her community service group in workplace skills for group presentation and video.
The following earned their leader award credential while in attendance: Arianna Chace (Culinary Arts), Anabelle Khory (Dental Assisting), Karley Kaliff (Graphic Communications), Avery Alexander (Graphic Communications), Mrs. Wicks, and Mr. Root.
