Holiday cheer at Diman

Toy Drive

The Diman Culinary Arts and Dental Assisting programs held their annual toy drive to benefit local families in need during the holidays. The toy drive has been running since after Thanksgiving and ended with the Diman community collecting almost 500 toys. The toys were picked up by the staff from Greater Fall River Re-Creation which they will use to distribute at their holiday dinner with Santa Friday December 13 at the Don Carlos Club in Fall River. The remainder of the toys collected with be used in their family resource center for families in need during the holidays and throughout the whole year.

The Culinary and Dental programs have been coordinating this drive for many years. We held a Chinese auction raffle in addition to the drive which was used to raise $600 dollars to be given to GFR Re-Creation to sponsor part of their holiday dinner on Friday. Over all we are thankful for the community members, faculty, staff, and students for contributing to this great cause for the Greater Fall River community.

Shoes for Kids

Over the past 8 years, the Mistletoe Shoe Drive has given new shoes to over 3,000 children in our community. These shoes go to local children in foster care, DCYF, Boys & Girls Club, St. Vincent’s Home, Our Sister’s Place and families requesting help.

The Diman faculty, staff, students and administration wanted to help by collecting shoes for Shannon Raposo founder of the Mistletoe Shoe Drive .
26 pairs of new shoes were collected, and next year, we would love to double, if not triple, that number.
