Legislative luncheon at Diman

On September 7, 2016, Diman was pleased to host a luncheon, in Room 251, for our state legislators. The lunch was prepared by Diman students and staff in the Culinary Arts Program. 
 
The delegation included State Senator Michael Rodrigues and State Representatives Carole Fiola (6th Bristol), Patricia Haddad (5th Bristol and Speaker Pro Tempore), Steven S. Howitt (4th Bristol), Alan Silvia (7th Bristol), and Paul Schmid (8th Bristol).  Joining the legislators were Superintendent-Director Thomas Aubin, School Committee Member Donald DiBiasio, Business Administrator Deborah Kenney, Cooperative Education Coordinator Kevin Lazaro, Adjustment Counselor Michaela Gagne Hetzler, and Executive Assistant to the Superintendent-Director/School Committee Recording Secretary Lucy Thompsen. 

The purpose event centered around opening the lines of communication between our area legislators and Diman. The dialogue of the meeting focused on information concerning Diman's needs. This information is needed to best advocate for the students at Diman. This successful meeting with strengthen the collaboration between Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School and the Massachusetts Legislators. Diman intends to hold these forums with the state legislators three times a year to discuss the future of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School.

The luncheon was a successful meeting that should strengthen the collaboration between the legislature and Diman. The school intends to hold three per year.
