Guitar heroes at Diman

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Rockers from last year, photo by the Herald NewsMembers of the Diman community can be real Guitar Heroes on Sunday, November 6th (from 1-5 p.m.) when Diman will hold its second-annual Rockin’ For Scholarships fundraiser.

The fundraiser raised over $1,000 for scholarships given by the Diman Alumni Association in last year’s inaugural concert, but organizer Tom Branco is convinced that this year will be even more successful. “We’ll raise a lot more this time,” he said enthusiastically.

Bands interested in performing must contact Branco before 10/15 at 774-526-3136 or tontoscruiser1@hotmail.com.

Held from 1-5 p.m. in the Diman auditorium, the concert will feature multiple bands, styles of music, and age levels. Musicians will range from current students and teachers to alumni and retirees. Entry will be $5, with all proceeds going to the Diman Alumni Scholarship Fund, which provides dozens of scholarships to graduating seniors.

In addition to music, the event will also feature refreshments, a 50/50 raffle, and a Chinese raffle for several different prizes. We will be accepting donations for the raffles up to the day of the event..

Sound-work will be being provided by Eric Spencer, of New Bedford Pro Audio, who has provided sound, lighting, and production services all over the Fall River area for 25 years.

Questions can be directed to Tom Branco at 774-526-3136 or tontoscruiser1@hotmail.com.
