Diman students show off their skills

Diman is pleased to announce that 66 students earned medals at the SkillsUSA Massachusetts District 2 Regional Competition on March 18, 2013.

45 students earned gold or silver medals and will move on to the state competition in Marlboro in April, where they will compete with winners from around the state for the right to move onto the national competition in Kansas City in June.

"I am so proud of the Diman students who competed at this year’s District 2 contests," said Assistant Superintendent-Director/Principal Brian Bentley. "Some were competing for the first time, some were competing for their second or third time but ALL of them were competing with true Bengal pride. Many students won medals and are moving on to states but all of them won my respect for the way they showcased their talents at this competition."

Diman took home 20 gold medals, 25 silver medals, and 21 bronze medals in the competition of technical knowledge and employability.

The competition was held at Diman and included approximately 700 students from 8 schools: Diman, Durfee, Bristol Community College, Bristol-Plymouth, Dighton-Rehoboth, Southeastern, Tri-County, and Attleboro.

SkillsUSA Massachusetts is a state association of SkillsUSA, a national organization serving more than 275,000 high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service careers, including health occupations.
