The Diman Boys performed well at the MSTCA Division 3 relays held at Sandwich High School on Saturday April 29.
The Boys 4 x 100 relay team took 7th place with a state qualifying time of 45.51. There were 38 teams in the event. The relay team included Junior Javier Stanley, Junior James Rebelo and Seniors Ashton Begin and DJ Machado. This marks the second consecutive season that the 4 x 100 team has qualified for the MIAA post season.
The Sprint Medley (800m, 200m, 200m, 400m) team of Begin, Machado and brothers Curtis and Colin Melo (Juniors) took 8th place out of 33 teams. They won their heat. Their time was 3:53.6
The Boys Shuttle Hurdle team also competed, a first for Diman, in the process becoming the school record holders. The team won their heat in dramatic fashion. The team is made up of Senior Captain Sage Arruda, Senior Jun Zhang, Sophomore Kurt Rodrigues and Junior Jacob Swenson.
Also competing for Diman were the 4x 800 team which included Junior Nate Boardman and Senior Alex Almeida along with the Melo brothers. The Javelin relay team of James Lesier, Zack Poitras, and Ashton Begin also competed at the state wide event.
