  • Success at Notch Mechanical Pipe Welding Competition

    Our Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies program is proud of our students' performances at the Notch Mechanical Pipe Welding Competition on 5/17/23. Bradyn Domigues won first place out of 75 competitors, and six of the nine students passed both the visual test and the bend test. (5/18/23)

    Diman receives CTI grant

    Greater Fall River Vocational School District will be using these grant funds to provide training and placement services to prepare unemployed and underemployed participants for Carpenter, Welder positions. Their grant partners include: MassHire Bristol Workforce Board and Career Centers and the following employer partners: Davico Manufacturing, Dartmouth Building Supply, North Atlantic Corporation.     ‘Top notch’ work from Diman students on key piece of city infrastructure

    A group of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School students saw the fruits of their labors materialized in a dramatic way on Friday when a project they had worked on for a year -- replacing vital sluice gates that help control the flow of water from the Quequechan River -- became an integral part of the city’s infrastructure for decades to come.     Schools all across the country have been trying different strategies to make students feel safe and a part of their community.     Retired Diman teacher earns award, passes on legacy

    Diman is pleased to announce that recently retired teacher Edward Carreiro has won the American Welding Society’s “Howard E. Adkins Memorial Instructor Award.” Carreiro, who retired from the Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies program in 2016, was surprised when the award was presented to him on 1/5/17, but that didn’t stop him from offering sage advice to students in shop.     Whirlpool gives Diman students a look at how big their future can be

    The first thing that strikes you about the factory floor at Whirlpool is that it’s clean and relatively quiet, a long way from the greasy, roaring factory floors of the past. The audience was about 20 students from Diman Regional Technical Vocational High School, some of whom may well end up welding in or supervising a plant just like the Whirlpool facility (10/11/16)

    Diman thanks Lowe’s for shop improvement

    Lowe’s beheld the results of their financial support on Tuesday, March 22, when the new Engineering/Technology Center was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Diman’s Machine Tool Technologies shop. The new center was funded by a $25,000 grant from Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation that was administered by SkillsUSA. (3/23/16)
