  • Diman announces honor roll for semester 1, 2020-2021

    Diman is pleased to announce our honor roll for the first term of the 2002-2021 school year. A total of 402 students made the honor roll, with 140 earning high honors and 262 earning honors. The freshman class led the way with 129 students, followed by the senior class with 109. (2/11/21)

  • Diman receives CTI grant

    Greater Fall River Vocational School District will be using these grant funds to provide training and placement services to prepare unemployed and underemployed participants for Carpenter, Welder positions. Their grant partners include: MassHire Bristol Workforce Board and Career Centers and the following employer partners: Davico Manufacturing, Dartmouth Building Supply, North Atlantic Corporation.   • Fall River native Felicia Mendonca details long days caring for patients in COVID ICU

    Felicia Mendonca graduated twice from Diman. Initially as a high school student, then the Diman School of Practical Nursing, she continued her education successfully pursing a doctorate degree as a nurse practitioner. But with the critical need for nurses amid the coronavirus pandemic, Felicia put aside her plans of serving locally as a nurse practitioner to help out during the COVID-19 crisis as a traveling ICU nurse, recently finishing an assignment in El Paso, Texas.   • Diman automotive students winner of Ford Motor Company Challenge

    Although remote learning is a new territory overall, students at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School have been completing web-based Ford training since 2018.   • Diman’s Room 251 restaurant offering curbside takeout

    Diman’s Room 251 restaurant might have been the least best kept secret for cheap eats in the city. Just about every day the restaurant was open, it was packed with diners enjoying sandwiches, soups, salads, full entrees and an array of sweets cooked by the school’s Culinary Arts program students.(10/19/20)

  • Diman thankful for HAAS donations

    The Gene HAAS foundation has once again donated money to Diman Seniors from the class of 2020 that are pursuing a college degree in Advanced Manufacturing fields of study. This year $18,000 was awarded to the class of 2020. To date, Haas has given Diman students $44,000 in the past 3 years. (10/14/20)

  • Retooled: Diman adapting to challenges of learning trades remotely

    In this time of distance teaching and learning, trade shops at vocational schools face, perhaps, the greatest challenge. They, as well as many other shops offered at vocational schools, focus heavily on students working with tools and on machines. But with students, due to the COVID-19 crisis, locked out of the building and physically separated from their teachers, hands-on learning has largely been taken out of the educational equation.
