    Looking for a job? You’re in luck, with experts saying that the current job market offers historic levels of open positions across a wide swath of industries. “It’s the first time when the leverage is really in employees’ hands,” said Kevin Lazaro, Director of Cooperative Education at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. “I’ve seen a lot of changes, but I’ve never seen such a boon of job opportunities across a multitude of industries.” (6/15/22)

    Fall Protection Training at Diman

    Diman students and teachers in the construction cluster trades participated in a full day of fall protection training. In collaboration with #BurnsPowerTools and #Wernerladder our students and Teachers were able to participate in a hands on demonstration learning the Osha standards, different parts of a fall arrest system, proper use and equipment for different types of fall hazards, proper fitment, different style anchoring methods for a variety of applications, along with what to do should you experience a fall while using a safety harness.     Diman dedicates Carpentry shop to Ronald Silvia, Sr.

    Diman has rededicated the Carpentry-Cabinetmaking Shop in memory of Ronald Silvia, Sr. A 1963 graduate of the Carpentry Shop, Silvia joined the carpenter’s union after high school, worked in the trade for many years, returned to Diman to teach his trade, and then at retirement was elected to the Diman School Committee.     Greater Fall River Vocational School District will be using these grant funds to provide training and placement services to prepare unemployed and underemployed participants for Carpenter, Welder positions. Their grant partners include: MassHire Bristol Workforce Board and Career Centers and the following employer partners: Davico Manufacturing, Dartmouth Building Supply, North Atlantic Corporation.     A group of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School students saw the fruits of their labors materialized in a dramatic way on Friday when a project they had worked on for a year -- replacing vital sluice gates that help control the flow of water from the Quequechan River -- became an integral part of the city’s infrastructure for decades to come.     Diman students complete shelves for Swansea Police

    Students at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School completed and delivered shelving that will be used to store medical supplies at the Swansea Police Headquarters. Eight of the students led by instructors Donald Travers and Cory Luz brought the shelving to te headquarters Friday morning with Swansea Representative on the Diman School Committee, Jeffrey Begin and Officer Donald Dibiasio, Somerset’s representative on the Diman Committee, present.     Carpentry-Cabinetmaking Program hammers away at new technology

    Hammers and nails have been joined by advanced machinery and computers in Diman Carpentry-Cabinetmaking shop. Students still learn traditional carpentry, but visitors to the program would also see students programming advanced CNC (computer-numeric controlled) machines to carve intricate designs and patterns into wood.     Diman thanks Lowe’s for shop improvement

    Lowe’s beheld the results of their financial support on Tuesday, March 22, when the new Engineering/Technology Center was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Diman’s Machine Tool Technologies shop. The new center was funded by a $25,000 grant from Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation that was administered by SkillsUSA. (3/23/16)
