Mathematics Department Overview

  • The study of mathematics is an integral component of a variety of academic and vocational disciplines. All mathematics curricula were refreshed in 2022 to meet the various needs of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School students to prepare them for MCAS 2.0, PSAT/SAT/ACT, and Accuplacer in accordance with NCTM and Common Core guidelines. Graduates who are continuing their education by enrolling in a two-year or four-year institution, enlisting in the military, or entering the workforce will be well prepared for the future after completing the comprehensive four-year mathematics program.

    Math Team competes at WPI

    The Diman Math Team was invited to Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s 32nd Annual Math Meet on Tuesday, October 15th. WPI limited the event to only four students per team, and Adam Bouchard, Makayla Cabeceiras, William Girard, and Owen Morris represented Diman well. (11/04/19)

  • The team and the award

    Math team finishes perfect season

    The Diman Math Team completed a perfect season with a win at the annual spring vocational math meet hosted by Bay Path Voc-Tech in Charlton, MA on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019. Sixteen teams from seven different schools vied for top honors. Team Captain Marcus Banoub helped his team take an early lead and maintain it throughout the competition.   • Psyched for Chromebooks!

    Diman Bengal Education Foundation funds Chromebooks at Diman

    The Diman Bengal Education Foundation presented $14,300 to the school for the 100% purchase price of 55 Chromebooks. This technology has become a resourceful tool within the English Language Arts Department and helps prepare sophomore students for MCAS 2.0 testing. (3/28/19)

  • The math team

    Math Team Finds Path to Victory

    For the second year in a row, the Diman Regional Math Team won first place at the annual vocational league competition, this time hosted by Bay Path Voc-Tech in Charlton, MA on Monday 11/19. Team captain Marcus Banoub led Diman's A Team to victory over Bay Path, Greater Lawrence, Bristol Plymouth, Norfolk, Greater Lowell, Essex, and Madison Park. New members Owen Morris, William Girard, and Adam Bouchard all contributed to the team win. (11/19/18)

  • The teams and the trophy

    Math Team earns Vocational League trophy

    Thanks to months of dedicated practice, the Diman Math Team brought home the Massachusetts Vocational Mathematics League trophy for the first time in the school’s history on Wednesday, April 25th. Tri-County Regional Voc-Tech High School hosted teams from several vocational schools with 17 teams vying for the top prize. (4/26/18)

    The Diman Math Team was invited to Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s 30th Annual Math Meet on Tuesday, October 17th. This was the first invitation ever extended to Diman Regional for this prestigious competition.
