Mr. Roger Guimond
I'm Roger Guimond a teacher certified in Special Education and History grades 5 - 9. My previous experience in the field was working at a behavioral health clinic, lock-up, for two and a half years, in an alternative class at Durfee H.S. and prototyping an alternative program for middle school students in the Fall River Schools, and lastly I was hired here at Diman Regional in Sptember of 2000.
My educational background includes stops at Christ the King, K-8, in Rutland, Vermont, Msgr. Prevost H. S. (1968- 72), Bristol Community College (1989-91 Highest Honors in ElementaryEducation). Rhode Island College (1991-95 Summa Cum Laude in Social Studies/Education), then a Masters of Education from Framingham State College (1995-98). Since then I've taken a myriad other masters courses from local colleges, namely UMass Dartmouth, and certificates from BCC in Green Technologies. While working on and post degrees I was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for educators and was honored by the state of Massachusetts with an Excellence in Teaching award.
Areas of interest and hobbies include: whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hunting, walking in the woods with my dogs, gardening, fixing up the home to be sustainable, watching the Pats, and sitting by the fire with family and friends watching the day end.
