I am currently in my 22nd year teaching at Diman.  I was appointed Department Head for Special Education in the spring of 2018. I have transitioned in that time to my current role as a special education vocational consultant.  As the Special Education Vocatinal/Technical Consultant I primarily work with the freshman exploratory instructors. However, I am available to assist all vocational instructors in choosing and utilizing the appropriate accommodations and modifications designated for students with disabilities in their IEPs within the shop setting. In some instances, students may require additional assistance in completing their OSHA certification testing and I may pull them out of shop to work individually with them in completing their OSHA modules.
