The Applied Civics Project: During the 2020-2021 Academic year all Grade 9 students will complete the Applied Civcs Project. This student driven project will be completed in six steps, finishing in May of 2021. The Civics Project is required under Massachusetts law.

Social Studies Department Overview
The History and Social Studies curriculum is aligned with the most recent 2018 Massachusetts History and Social Studies Frameworks. The department offerings are designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and judgment to become responsible citizens of the nation and to have an understanding of world issues. The department takes innovative approaches to teaching events of the past and the foundations of American civic life. Students are prepared to be active participants in our republic.
2020 marks the 100 year anniversary of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing suffrage (the right to vote) for all adult women citizens. Also, 2020 will be the 400th anniversary of the settlement of Plimoth Plantation by the Pilgrims and the permanent interaction of native peoples with Europeans.
