Hello!
My name is Dr. Stephen Alves. I am the Sophomore Health Assisting Instructor.
I have been an RN for the past 38 years. My vast clinical experience includes medical/surgical acute care nursing, oncology nursing, long term care, community health, and hospice care. Prior to becoming part of the Health Assisting faculty, I taught in the LPN program here at Diman for 26 and 1/2 years. I have also worked in nursing education, at the CNA level, and associate degree RN level. I left Diman Regional briefly in 2016 to work at Bristol Community College as the program director for the RN program. I was so happy to return to Diman in April of 2021. I earned my Associate in Science Degree in Nursing at Bristol Community College, my Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science Degrees in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and my PhD in Nursing from Walden University. My wife and I are the proud parents of two young men. We also have a beautiful cat, Allie and a golden retriever, named Bentley. I am looking forward to working with our Sophomore students in the Health Assisting Program and helping them achieve their goals as future health care professionals.
My extra help day is Monday from 2:30-3:30 PM or by appointment.
