Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS)

  • The Massachusetts Education Reform Law of 1993, state law, G.L.c.69, § 1D, requires that all students seeking to earn a high school diploma meet the Competency Determination (CD), in addition to meeting all local graduation requirements.  In Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) is offered as the statewide CD.  As such, all public school sophomores in Massachusetts must sit for and pass the MCAS exam in order to be eligible for a high school diploma.

To help prepare students for this important exam, Diman offers several preparation opportunities.  In addition to supporting and developing students through exposure to a vast and meaningful curriculum, Diman offers academic supports like EXTENDSMCAS Preparation Academy, MCAS remediation sessions, and more.  For additional information on Diman MCAS support programs, please contact Dr. Warren.
