Hello Diman Families! With next week being a short week, this will be the only newsletter going out until December 6th. It contains a lot of information that will be important to you and your child.

Vision of a Graduate

We are asking family members and students to consider serving on Diman’s Vision of a Graduate Sub-Committee. We are lobbying our families, students, alumni, school committee, staff, business and industry to consider coming together to work on this initiative.  This will ensure that we continue to hold ourselves, our students, and our academic & vocational programs to a high standard that becomes the trademark for the future of Diman. Early Morning Gym Rules- Session will last from 7:00-7:30

  • No Locker Room access.

  • No food or drinks.

  • No use of electronic devices.

  • No outside equipment allowed.

  • Student IDs must be worn at all times.

  • Students must wear sneakers to participate in physical activities.

  • No boots, crocs, slippers allowed on the court.

  • All other school rules must be followed.

Well Being of Families & Students

The holidays can be very stressful on people. The Greater Fall River area offers many supports for families in our community, and we want to make sure you have quick access at your fingertips!  Please see the information below for important resources.

  • Greater Fall River Community Resource Guide - Up-to-date information on emergency services, counseling services, basic needs, disability services, job training, homelessness support, legal services, and much more (also available in Portuguese and Spanish)

  • Fall River Food Pantries/Soup Kitchens - Up-to-date information on local food access for 7 days/week

  • Fuel Assistance for Heat – Heat Assistance (can also call 1-800-632-8175)

  • Mass 211 (also accessed 24/7 by calling 2-1-1) - access to various Massachusetts resources and supports, including food banks, after school care, utility assistance, transportation, etc.

  • The Family Resource Center -  Single point of entry to access community-based, culturally competent family support services (45 Rock Street, Fall River)

  • Behavioral Health Help Line – Helps families navigate the behavioral health system and access treatment, including mobile crisis services (can call or text at 833-773-2445)

  • Need to Talk? You Matter – Emergency resources, including confidential 24/7 hotline information

 

Help Build Our Cooperative Education Pipeline

Many of you may be aware that in just a few months, our juniors will become eligible for cooperative education. We are providing bookmarks that families can print and distribute to local businesses. Please help us spread the word that our highly skilled students are available for hire through our cooperative education program. Student Parking

All students are required to have a Parking Pass. Please fill a form out on the website Student Parking Pass. Students are not to park their vehicles on the streets adjacent to the school, on the ramp, or on the roadway near the athletic fields."

  • Wednesday November 27 *EARLY DISMISSAL* 11:00am - Students are asked to leave their bags at home.

           Period #1 will be extended - 7:45am to 9:20am

                      Grades 9 & 10 in the Gym for PEP Rally

            Grades 11 & 12 in ACADEMICS or SHOP

                      Period #2 - will be extended 9:30am to 10:55am

                      Grades 11 & 12 in the Gym for PEP Rally

                      Grades 9 & 10 in ACADEMICS or SHOP for instruction

  • Thursday November 28      Happy Thanksgiving - NO SCHOOL

  • Friday November 29 - NO SCHOOL

  • Monday  December 2         A Week, D Day

Looking Ahead:

  • Wednesday, November 27, 2024 is an 11:00 AM early dismissal. We will be holding pep rallies. Students are asked to leave their bags at home. 

  • Thursday, November 28,2024 No School-Happy Thanksgiving. Families are invited to our Annual Football game vs GNBRVTHS at Durfee starting at 10:00 AM. 

  • Friday, November 29, 2024 No School.

  • Friday, December 6, 12:28 PM Student Dismissal 

  • Sunday, December 8, Open House 1:00-3:00 PM

  • Wednesday, December 11, 11:58AM  Student Dismissal, Staff Professional Development

  • Friday, December 20, 11:58 Student Dismissal, and the end of Semester 1. 

  • Monday, December 23- Friday January 3, Holiday Break 

 

Caffeinated Beverages

Having our students’ health and well-being in mind, “high energy drinks,” including coffee and iced coffee and any other high caffeine foods and drinks are banned at Diman. Any student in possession of these products shall have them confiscated and are subject to discipline.  

Semester One Grading Window

Semester one at Diman ends on December 20th.  Students are reminded to access all available educational support as we approach the end of the semester.  EXTENDS is available to all Diman students every Tuesday and Thursday after school, and transportation is provided.  Additionally, all academic and vocational teachers stay after school at least once a week to help students with assignments and to support students as they prepare for assessments.  Students struggling in academic or vocational programs are encouraged to meet with their content teachers.  

Holiday Raffle:

Please see flyers for our annual toy drive and raffles benefiting local families in need. 

 

Senior Dues:

An email was sent out regarding Senior Dues.  Dues will remain the same this year, $90.  Payments can be made by cash or check in the Administration Office.  You can also pay by credit card through the Diman School Store on the Diman website.

A week = April 17, 2025 

B week = May 1, 2025 


This is the final call for Graduation Gown measurements.  If you have not sent your measurements to Mrs. Lane, please do so ASAP.
