Compassion in Action Annual Peace Poster Contest

PLEASE NOTE - Local submissions may be turned in to Michaela Gagne in Guidance.

Compassion is the understanding of a problem or the suffering of another and acting to solve the problem or alleviate the suffering. Students apply their empathy and communication skills to support one another through compassion in action.

The Lions Club of Fall River, in collaboration with the Fall River Youth Violence Prevention Initiative, is launching their annual Peace Poster Contest as a means of promoting peace and positivity. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. Students may draw, paint or use computer design to express how they will make the world more peaceful through acts of compassion.

Top 3 entries in elementary, middle school and high school (or high school aged) categories will win gift cards:
    $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd place

Winners will be honored on May 13th!

Artwork on an 8.5" x 11" paper must be submitted to Michaela Gagne in Guidance by Tuesday, May 2nd.

Submissions must include the student's name, grade, school/group as well as contact info from school/group.
Submitted artwork will not be returned to the artist.  Submitted artwork will be displayed at Fall River Government Center.
