Bringing guidance from New Bedford to Fall River
Andre Sylvia

Griffin is touted as a leader in education for 12 years.

"While at Greater New Bedford, Ms. Griffin paid close attention to systems and processes, specifically in credit equity. She brings to Diman a wealth of knowledge in academic advising, career planning, and student support services. She’s passionate about building strong partnerships with local school districts to create opportunities for students in the Greater Fall River communities," the press release states.

Griffin holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Bridgewater State University, a master's degree in Counseling and a bachelor's degree in Psychology, both from Fitchburg State College, and a bachelor's degree in Nursing from Regis College.

“I am excited to join the Diman family and work with students and staff to enhance the guidance curriculum. I believe vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing students for successful careers, and I look forward to contributing to that mission,” Griffin states.

Who is Diman's new principal?

Weckesser has been involved in several Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education initiatives, including the Early College Initiative, the MTSS Inclusion Academy, Framework Revision Committees, and the Industry Recognized Credential Sub Group. She has been a champion of SkillsUSA and is a member of Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators.

“I am thrilled to be part of a community known for its commitment to high standards in career and technical education," Weckesser states.

Weckesser takes over for Andrew Rebello — whose distinguished career in local education earned him a Milken Educator Award, known as the “Oscars of teaching,” in October 2023 and the honor of 2024 High School Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators Association just a few months later.
