Summer Letter to Families - June 17, 2022

  • June 17, 2022

    Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and Student:

The faculty, staff, and administration would like to congratulate students on completion of the 2022 school year at Diman! Though this past year has brought with it many challenges, the educational team at Diman can confidently say that we are proud of each one of our students and the hard work that they have exhibited throughout this unique academic year.

Now, as we prepare for a well-deserved summer break, we must keep in mind that these two upcoming months, while restful in nature, are also essential for Academic Year (AY) 2023 success. To help students prepare effectively, we ask that all Diman students review the items below:

    1. The student schedule for AY 2023
Students should find a draft version of their schedule within this packet. Final student schedules will not be available in Aspen until August. Upon receiving this letter, students should review schedules for concerns like missing classes, classes already taken, holes in their schedules, etc. These concerns should be reported through the Schedule Concern Google Form at https://forms.gle/ysD9vHvbh6HnhDFR9. It is important for student to remember that schedule changes can only be made based upon level changes (ex: moving down from honors to college prep). Week change and/or section change requests will not be honored.
    2. The summer reading assignment
Diman students must complete a summer reading assignment. Additionally, many honors and AP courses require additional summer work. Summer assignments for all Diman courses can be found at https://www.dimanregional.org/summer.
    3. The Reveal Math Platform
Diman will be adopting a new Mathematics series: Reveal Math. Enclosed within this packet, families will find the Reveal Math Flyer. This flyer is being offered to support families during this curriculum transition. We ask families to review the mathematics packet and prepare any questions for the start of the school year.

Again, the Diman faculty, staff, and administration would like to thank the Diman community for a successful academic year. Education does not happen in a vacuum. It is only through our work with students, families, and the community that we are able to celebrate another positive, world-class educational experience. For that we thank you as we look forward to a terrific AY2023.

    Sincerely,
    Katie Warren, Ph.D.
