The Diman Vocational Image Award will become an annual award presented to Diman graduates. Unlike other Diman graduate awards (Hall of Fame, Distinguished Graduate Award) at the school, the Vocational Image Award will be selected by the Diman Superintendent and Diman Foundation President. In addition, the main selection criteria are professional growth and career success. Many Diman graduates have attained great success in the workplace and the Vocational Image Award will allow the school to bring recognition to those individuals. 

 

In 2021 the inaugural recipients are Arthur Arruda (Class of 1956 Machine Shop) and Frank Santos (Class of 1972 Food Trades). Arruda mastered his trade skills to the point of starting his own business, AA Precision Machine Company in the Fall River Industrial Park. Santos used his trade skills to enter the hospitality field at the entry level with Rosen Hotels & Resorts, earning promotions to the position of VP/CFO with this Orlando Florida corporation. 

 

A responsibility comes with this award selection. Next year, Arruda and Santos will assist the Diman Superintendent and Diman Foundation President with the 2022 selection(s) for this award.
