Goal 1: During the 2018 school year, teachers at Diman Regional will become more knowledgeable of the SEL needs of a diverse high school population resulting in the development of at least 2 strategies that can be incorporated into lesson plans once a cycle.
Potential Action Steps Group Responsible Timeline Resources Needed 1. Professional development for staff on SEL. Principal/Administration/Professional Development team At least 3 sessions to be held during PD days. Time, money, guest speakers/experts in the field. 2. Development of an SEL Committee. Principal/Administration/Faculty/Students Monthly meetings during the 17-18 school year. Space and time. 3. Creation of a cache of SEL strategies that will be available to teachers for incorporation into lesson plans. SEL Committee Monthly meetings during the 17-18 school year. Space and time. Goal 2: During the 2018 school year, Diman Regional will expand its marketing reach by developing a minimum of 3 new approaches to explore expansion of the Diman brand.

Create greater involvement with the Bristol County Chamber of Commerce with a hope of generating mindfulness on the part of local businesses to support our community Administration, Director of Coop, members of the Chamber of Commerce Quarterly meetings during the 17-18 school year. Access to people, business partnerships, and local newsletters. 2. Greater involvement with social media and TV/Radio looking to reach audiences starting in the 6th grade. Administration, Technology Committee Monthly meetings during the 17-18 school year. Space, time, and potential advertising money. 3. Adopt a luncheon schedule with state representatives, sending school counselors, and alumni to move the mission of Diman Regional into the state and national levels. Teachers, students, parents, administration Quarterly for the 17-18 school year. Space, time, contact information for state and national representatives. Goal 3: During the 2018 school year, Diman Regional will look to promote an Early College initiative by increasing student enrollment in the program from 10 to 25.

Strategies could include social media, Diman’s website, assemblies, banners and other such advertisements throughout the school. Teachers, Guidance Counselors, Administration. Monthly meetings during the 17-18 school year. Time, space, contacts at the post-secondary level. 2. Develop a more robust communication program with parents to inform them of local and statewide options with Dual Enrollment or Early College. Strategies could include social media, Diman’s parent forums, and other such advertisements throughout the school Teachers, Guidance Counselors, Administration. Monthly meetings during the 17-18 school year. Time, space, contacts at the post-secondary level.
