Robert Correia
The Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing Department is pleased to announce Robert Correia as their Outstanding Vocational Student. The son of Roy and Sherrie Correia, Robert lives in Fall River and is a graduate of James M. Morton Middle School. Robert is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Spindle City Auto Glass in Fall River. Robert has secured post-graduation employment with Spindle City Auto Glass and he also plans on attending Bristol Community College where he will major in General Studies.
Shane-Alexander Ealy
Shane-Alexander Ealy of Fall River has been named the Automotive Technology Department’s Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Henry Lord Middle School, Shane-Alexander is the son of James and Heidi-Lynn Chaplin. Shane-Alexander earned honors during his junior year and has volunteered at Diman’s Open House. Shane-Alexander is currently employed as a Lube Technician through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Mastria Nissan in Raynham. He plans on attending either Universal Technical Institute or New England Institute of Technology where he will major in Automotive Diesel Mechanics.

Tristen Hannon
The Building and Property Maintenance Department is pleased to announce that Fall River’s Tristen Hannon has been named the Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Edmund P. Talbot Middle School, Tristen is the daughter of Cary Hannon and Jo-Ann Mortin. She demonstrated her vocational skills by competing in SkillsUSA earning second place in the District Competition. She was a member of the Girls Soccer team during her sophomore and junior years, and she has been a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club for four years. Tristen is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program as a sales associate at Schwartz Ace Hardware in Fall River. A John and Abigail Adams Scholarship recipient, Tristen will be serving our country in the Armed Services and will work as a Wheeled Mechanic in the United States Army.
Meggan DeSousa
Meggan DeSousa has been named the Outstanding Vocational Student for the Business Technology Program. The daughter of Angel and James DeSousa, Meggan lives in Fall River and is a graduate of Mathew J. Kuss Middle School, where she was a student in the Gifted and Talented Program. Meggan is a four-year Varsity Soccer athlete and is also a 2016 SkillsUSA National Bronze Medalist, participating in Chapter Business Procedure. As a senior, she was appointed president of the 2017 Diman Chapter Business Procedure team. Meggan will be competing at the SkillsUSA National Conference in June after winning first place at the SkillsUSA State Conference. Meggan is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Project Spotlight and Math Club. This year, she was Diman’s nominee as Massachusetts Outstanding Vocational Student. Meggan is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Design Ergonomics in Fall River as a Logistics Assistant. As a result of her outstanding performance, Meggan has been offered a full college scholarship from Design Ergonomics. Meggan is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship and the President’s Achievement Scholarship. In addition, Meggan has received the Alumni Scholarship totaling $89,000 to attend Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. After graduation from Diman in June, Meggan plans to major in Finance with a minor in Marketing.

Elijah Moniz
Elijah Moniz of Westport has been named the Carpentry- Cabinetmaking Department’s Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Westport Middle School, Elijah is the son of Joseph and Maria Moniz. He has earned honors or high honors every semester at Diman during his high school career. Elijah has been a Varsity Soccer player for four years, earned the Mayflower Athletic Conference All Star Award his junior year, and earned the Sportsmanship Award in both his sophomore and junior years. Elijah has also competed in Spring Track, Junior Varsity Basketball, and Freshman Basketball. His vocational skills have earned him a first place finish in Diman’s Trade Fair during his sophomore and junior years. Elijah showed his leadership skills by competing in SkillsUSA where he achieved first place at the SkillsUSA State Conference for Job Skills Demonstration. He also earned an eighth and a third place finish at the SkillsUSA National Conference for Chapter Business Procedure. In addition to this, Elijah has served as a National Voting Delegate and he will be competing at the National Conference this June after a first place win at the state conference. Elijah serves on Diman’s Carpentry and Cabinetmaking Advisory Board, volunteers at Our Lady of Grace Parish, and coaches for Westport United Youth Soccer. Elijah is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Specialty Millwork in Fall River as a Cabinetmaker. A John and Abigail Adams Scholarship winner, his future plans include majoring in Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He aspires to be employed by Unispace: Office and Workplace Design in Boston.
Chelsey Benoit
The Culinary Arts Program is pleased to announce Chelsey Benoit of Westport as their Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Westport Middle School, Chelsey is the daughter of Raymond and Kathleen Benoit. She has earned honors every trimester while a student at Diman. Chelsey has demonstrated her leadership skills by serving as SkillsUSA chapter officer for two years. She has participated in the Fall Leadership Conference, Opening and Closing Ceremonies for three years, and has earned a Gold Medal at the state level and placed fifth at the 2016 SkillsUSA National Conference. She will return to the national competition this June after winning gold for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies competition at the SkillsUSA State Conference this year. Chelsey is a three season athlete competing in Spring Track, where she served as captain this year, Volleyball, and Winter Track, all four years. She has volunteered at Diman’s Gingerbread House event and Open House. Chelsey also volunteers at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She has participated in Diman’s Cooperative Education Program, where she was a hostess at Lafrance Hospitality in Westport. Chelsey will be attending Westfield State University where she will major in History.
Aliana Andreoli
The Dental Assisting Department is pleased to announce Aliana Andreoli of Westport as their Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Westport Middle School, Aliana is the daughter of Allen and Melissa Andreoli. She has earned honors and high honors every trimester while a student at Diman. Aliana is a member of the National Honor Society and she has been a member of the Cheerleading Squad for three years, serving as captain during her senior year. She is also the recipient of the Mayflower Athletic Conference All Star Award her sophomore year and was recognized for her tumbling ability her senior year. Aliana has demonstrated her leadership skills as a Voting Delegate at SkillsUSA and competing in the Job Interview competition. She has also given back by volunteering at Dentistry from the Heart, Diman’s Admissions Night, Think Tank, and Student Recruitment. Aliana is currently employed through the Cooperative Education Program as a dental assistant at Perfect Smiles/ South Coast Smiles in Westport. She is the recipient of Academic Excellence Awards in history, biology and algebra. Aliana will be attending Mount Ida College for Pre-Dental/ Dental Hygiene, with future plans of becoming a dentist.
Kyra Macaroco
This year’s Outstanding Vocational Student for the Drafting Department is Kyra Macaroco. A Fall River resident, Kyra is a graduate of Edmund P. Middle School and is the daughter of Mario and Debra Macaroco. She has earned honors or high honors every trimester while studying at Diman. Kyra placed first her sophomore and junior years in Diman’s Trade Fair for her project on Mechanical Engineering and Architecture. She also placed first in the SkillsUSA Architecture competition her junior year. Kyra is currently employed as a Global Development Center Technician intern through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at DePuy Synthes, a company of Johnson & Johnson in Raynham. She will attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in the fall, where she will major in Architecture. Kyra hopes to remain employed with DePuy after graduation.
Devan Andrade
Fall River’s Devan Andrade has been named the Outstanding Vocational Student for the Electricity Department. A graduate of Atlantis Charter School, Devan is the son of John and Tricia Andrade. He has earned honors and high honors and received the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. Devan has competed in SkillsUSA, winning third place at the District Competition in the Team Build Competition during his sophomore year. He has earned a ninth place state finish in Industrial Motor Controls in his junior year. He also participated in the Trades Fair, earning a third place finish for his project on Residential Wiring. Devan has been a member of the Baseball Team for four years and received the Coaches Award during his junior year. Devan is currently employed through the Cooperative Education Program at Ralco Electric of Westport. He intends to continue on to Diman’s Evening School Journeyman Electrical Code class and become a Journeyman Electrician with Ralco.
Alex Amorim
Alex Amorim has been named the Outstanding Vocational Student for the Electronics Department. A graduate of Joseph Case Jr. High School, Alex is the son of Fernando and Helena Amorim of Swansea. Alex is ranked first in his class and has earned high honors all 12 trimesters at Diman. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned academic excellence in honors biology, geometry, and algebra. Alex won the Most Outstanding Student Award his junior year and is a member of SkillsUSA. Alex competed at the state level in Mobile Robotics and placed first in his junior year and second in his senior year. He has also earned a first place award in Trades Fair, as well as the Outstanding Trade Fair Project for his work on the Awesome Cube. Alex is also a member of the Math Team and has volunteered at Diman’s Open House, Parent Teacher Night, and Admissions Night. He also provides tutoring services to Diman students. Alex has volunteered at Bristol Community College as an usher during the performance of Fiddler on the Roof. Alex is currently employed as an electronics assembler through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Mahr Federal, Inc. in Providence, RI. He earned a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship and a $12,000 Merit Scholarship that he will apply to his enrollment to the Electrical Engineering Program at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Haylee Cooper
Westport resident Haylee Cooper has been named the Graphic Communications Department’s Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Westport Middle School, Haylee is the daughter of Kenneth and Carolyn Cooper. Haylee has been a high honors student throughout her career at Diman. She is a two-year National Honor Society member and is the recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. As a student in Graphic Communications, Haylee competed in the Printing Institute of New England contest and earned third place in the Offset Printing division. She is also a SkillsUSA member, where she has been a chapter officer for two years; Haylee also earned first place at the SkillsUSA District Competition three years in a row. Earning gold at this year’s SkillsUSA State Conference, Haylee will compete at the SkillsUSA National Conference in June. She has participated in Spring Track, Cheerleading and Ski Club. She is also a volunteer for Swim Across America. Haylee has participated in Diman’s Cooperative Education Program where she worked in Digital Printing for Corporate Image Apparel in Fall River. She will be attending the University of Connecticut where she will major in Biological Sciences.
Ally Toupin
The Outstanding Vocational Student for the Health Assisting Program is Ally Toupin. The Fall River resident is the daughter of Alan and Tracy Toupin and a graduate of James M. Morton Middle School. Ally has earned high honors every trimester at Diman. She is the President of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Student Government Club. As a Chapter Officer of SkillsUSA, she has earned a state silver medal for Freshman Career Choice Commentary. As a sophomore, she earned a silver medal at the state level for Job Skills A. She also competed on the national team her sophomore year for Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and placed fifth in the nation. During her junior year, she earned a National Third Place finish in Job Skills A competition. Most recently, Ally has qualified to attend the SkillsUSA National Conference because of her First Place finish at the State Conference. Ally has been committed and involved at Diman as a three season athlete, playing Cross Country, Winter Track, and Spring Track all four years. In Cross Country, she earned both the Coaches and Sportsmanship awards. In Winter Track, she has earned the Most Improved Award, and the Coaches Award, and in Spring Track, she has earned the Coaches Award. She has also served as captain of all three sports: Cross Country, Winter Track, and Spring Track. Ally has completed 60 hours of volunteering at South Coast services. She is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Truesdale Surgical Associates in Fall River. She earned the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship and will attend Bristol Community College, where she is enrolled in the General Health Sciences Transfer Program.
Tyler Orzechowski
The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Department is pleased to announce that Tyler Orzechowski of Swansea has earned their Outstanding Vocational Student Award. Tyler is the son of Stephen and Amy Orzechowski. He is a graduate of John T. Nichols Middle School in Middleboro. Tyler earned high honors in all 12 trimesters at Diman and has earned the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. He competed in SkillsUSA at the District Competition and has earned first place consecutively for three years for his Trades Fair Projects. Tyler has been a member of the Diman Baseball team all four years. Tyler is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at GM Refrigeration in Fall River. Tyler will continue onto the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he will major in Mechanical Engineering.
Paige Quintal
Machine Tool Technology Department has named Paige Quintal of Westport as their Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Westport Middle School, Paige is the daughter of Elizabeth Levrault. During her time at Diman, Paige has earned honors or high honors all 12 trimesters at Diman. She is also a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship recipient. She has been an active member of the Cheerleading Squad all four years and has earned the Coaches Award and an award for skills as best jumper. Paige is a member of SkillsUSA where she earned a first place finish at the District Competition in her junior and senior years in CNC Turning. Paige is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at DePuy Synthes a company of Johnson & Johnson in Raynham. Her future plans include attending Bristol Community College in the fall.

Noah Ferreira
The Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies Department is pleased to name Noah Ferreira as their Outstanding Vocational Student. The son of Alfred Ferreira and Kristi Fralic, Noah lives in Westport and is a graduate of Westport Middle School. Noah earned a first place award for his Trades Fair Project on the ECCO Car. He applied those welding skills at SkillsUSA, and he earned a first place finish at the SkillsUSA District Competition in both his junior and senior years. Noah has participated in the Cooperative Education Program where he worked as a welder/ fabricator at Superior Iron and Rail in Bridgewater.
Michael Duarte
Michael Duarte of Westport has been named the Plumbing Department’s Outstanding Vocational Student. A graduate of Westport Middle School, Michael is the son of Shawn and Kristina Duarte. As a student in the Plumbing Program, Michael demonstrated his vocational skills by achieving first place in Trades Fair for his project on black steel and copper. He has also participated in SkillsUSA and earned a Silver Medal at the SkillsUSA District Competition. Michael volunteers as a cook for Catholic Social Services. He is currently employed through the Cooperative Education Program at Sakonnet Plumbing in Little Compton, RI. He intends to continue his education through the Diman Evening School Journeyman Plumbing Code class. His future plans include opening his own business.
Karen Dion
Karen Dion of Tiverton, RI, has been named the Practical Nurse Day Program’s Outstanding Vocational Student. The daughter of William and Muriel Dion, she is a graduate of Bishop Connolly High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Karen is currently employed at Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River, Massachusetts. She will be pursuing an Associates in Science Degree in Nursing at Excelsior College in New York.
Sandra Melo
Sandra Melo is the Outstanding Vocational Student for the Practical Nurse Part-Time Day Program. A Fall River resident, Sandra has been married to her high school sweetheart, Michael Melo, for thirteen years. Sandra holds an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Bristol Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Sandra felt that it was time to give back to the many nurses who have cared for her in the past and pursue a career in nursing. She is currently employed at Life Stream in Fall River as a Case Coordinator. Her future plans include attending Bristol Community College for her Registered Nurse Associates Degree.
