    RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION OF SUPERINTENDENT-DIRECTOR

    In the event a vacancy in the office of the Superintendent-Director, the following procedures will be followed:

    1. The regional school system will review its policies with reference to desired qualifications under this section as to qualifications and position description, salary levels and benefits.
    2. The regional school system may appoint a sub-committee, use the whole Committee or secure a consultant to aid them in conducting a search for a new executive officer. Upon completion of the search, a limited number of candidates will be interviewed.
    3. Those responsible for the search are reminded of a proper and attractive notice, proper publishing of notice within and without the district, securing applications, obtaining credentials prior to presenting a manageable number for interviews and visitations, negotiation of terms and selection.
    4. The appointment of Superintendent-Director must be by majority vote of the Committee.
