• Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

    Beginner HVAC-R 60 hours

    Learn fundamentals of air conditioning and refrigeration. Class work will cover the basic theory, thermodynamics, refrigeration cycle, refrigeration system components, basic hand tools, recovery equipment, refrigeration system accessories, compressors, schematic readings, and proper refrigeration handling. Shop will consist of recovery and charge systems, brazing, soldering, and troubleshooting of equipment.


    Advanced HVAC-R 60 hours

    Learn to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components of AC and refrigeration systems, schematic reading, service techniques, charging systems, and heat load sizing. Also covered will be an introduction to Massachusetts license preparation and requirements. Preparations for EPA exam for refrigerant handling.

    In order to take this course you must have already completed Beginner HVAC-R and been given permission to take the advanced course.
