Matthew Machado

Matthew Machado* is this year’s Outstanding Vocational Student for the Health Assisting program. A graduate of Morton Middle School in Fall River, Matthew is the son of José and Gabriela Machado and is currently ranked first in the school with a 4.08 GPA.
He has been a member of Diman’s Non-Traditional Club all four years, is a member of the Senior Prom Committee, and he won the Outstanding Academic Student award his sophomore year. Outside of school, Matthew has been heavily involved with the community, serving numerous roles in the Santo Christo Church and as a member of the Our Lady of Light band. He has also volunteered with Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
Matt has shown his exceptional vocational expertise by earning 4th place in the SkillsUSA National Conference for First Aid/CPR his sophomore and junior years. Matthew is currently participating in the Cooperative Education Program at Diman, working at Southpointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Fall River as a certified nurse aide.
He will further his medical career next year at UMass Dartmouth, where he will major in Nursing.
