Graphic Communications Program
Program Overview
The Graphic Communications Program emphasizes the development of a student's skills for a career in Graphic Communications. Theory and application though hands-on learning provide students with the background to develop a varied portfolio and the knowledge to secure and maintain a creative position in the applied graphic communications field. Students develop the necessary skills to prepare them for diverse and creative positions in the Graphic Design field. Students will develop planning and organizational skills, as well as a decision-making capabilities. Students will also refine their technical abilities through the application of tools, materials and process used in various printing systems. Students will be instructed in plate making, stitching, bindery operations, paste-up, camera operations, screen printing, computerized lettering, desktop publishing, embroidery and thermal printing, Offset Printing and the Four-Color process.
The Graphic Communications Program reinforces English, math and science, while challenging students' problem-solving abilities.
