Wow, one of Diman's finest is moving up. Graduate Joshua Berube graduated from the Machine Shop in 2004. Josh is now a coach for the winter track team. I was able to sit down and talk with Coach Berube.
I asked him "what made him want to coach winter track?" He told me because they lost coach Arruda and he loves the sport. It was a rough beginning of the season, according to coach Berube. He thinks it is because the runners thought of him as more of a teammate than a coach. He works great with the runners and takes pride in what he is doing. He keeps the runners motivated and won't let them give up easily.
I also asked coach Berube, "If he ran track at Diman." He told me he ran for three years while here at Diman, and holds a couple of records.
There were 32 runners this season. Twenty-one of the runners were either on the principal's list or had high honors.
Don't fear -- Coach Berube will be back next season.
