Diman Students Have Success at SkillsUSA Conference

Recently, the student body elected seven individuals to serve as SkillsUSA Chapter Officers. These student leaders will represent our fine school, and keep the Diman SkillsUSA chapter running smoothly.

For three long days (November 19-21), these hard working students participated in the State Fall Leadership Conference in Marlboro, MA. More than 300 officers from 45 Massachusetts high schools participated in this event.
The work began for our officers, the moment they walked into their hotel. All officers were divided into Team C, H, A, M, P or S. Within there group each student was placed into one of five competitions: Team Profile, Membership Promotion, Total Quality Management (TQM), Boat Race, Community Service, or Community Construction. Each competition had a problem to solve. They had to organize their ideas, create a brief presentation, and finally they had to explain their project to the judges on the day of competition.
At the awards ceremony on last day of the conference, Diman was very successful! Here are some of the awards our officers earned:

In addition to the team awards, each of the seven officers in attendance earned an individual leadership award. They received a certificate and leadership pin from their advisor Mr. Cabucio.
