Diman Regional's 2007 Homecoming Dance took place the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Did you have the chance to attend?

If not, let me fill you in.

This year's event was organized by the cheerleaders and their advisor, Ms. Nogueira. Homecoming was at the beautiful White's of Westport in the Grand Salon. Upon arriving, students at the end of the line waited about one hour to get in. Once inside, the fun began: the buffet ranged from sandwiches to meatballs and pasta and the assortment of foods tasted well put together. The dance floor was a perfect size for all the students to dance, much more room than last years may I add! The music was great and easy to dance to; many people were on the dance floor all night.

One of the most exciting events of the night was voting in the 2007 Homecoming King and Queen. A number of students were nominated for king and queen but only two were chosen. Veronica Moreira (Office Technology) was elected Queen and Jared Cantin (Plumbing) was elected King. The Queen's court was rounded out by Shawna Farias and Chloe Lemaire, and the King's entourage included Justin Bulhoes and Bryan Torres.

Overall, more than 700 tickets were sold for this event. The formal wear was extremely nice and I spotted lots of red and black clothing in the room which was also very nice. Everyone enjoyed themselves and got along, and altogether Homecoming really came along nicely. This year's Homecoming was definitely a time to remember. A homecoming dance is always a great place to create high school memories, and I am sure that I will be going to next year's homecoming and the homecomings yet to come!
