From Rally To The Last Game
By Daniel Hollenbach '09
On Wednesday November 21st, our school had a pep rally for the end of the season Thanksgiving Day away game against New Bedford Voke. Here the football team was introduced, games were played, and Jared Cantin was reintroduced to Diman after his accident much earlier in the year. Also unlike the year before, no trips or falls were made and the rally went off without any flaws.
The next day, on an early cold morning we "The Diman Bengals" arrived at New Bedford Voke. We won the coin toss and decided to kick off the ball. The Bengal's played with great heart, scoring the first goal in the second quarter of the game. As half time came, tensions grew high for the Bengals, but we kept our heads high for the most part. At games end, the score was Bengals 6 and New Bedford 33. With that, the Bengal Football season came to an end.
Even though the game ended with an upset, this year's Bengals varsity squad made history by getting the first win. Next year, many will be missed but not forgotten as we lose our graduating seniors. With that in mind, the team could always use new players… so if you think you could add to the Diman family, then don't just say it, prove it on the field! As for the rest of us, we will be training in the weight room getting ready for next year.
