First Pep Rally in Decades is a Blast
Jennifer Cabecinha and Colleen Parillo
Before leaving for Thanksgiving vacation, the student body at Diman assembled in the gymnasium for the first pep rally in over thirty years. This pep rally was a great way to raise the Bengal spirit before the big Homecoming Game. Mr. Bentley started off the pep rally by recognizing the football team, who had been working hard throughout their season. The final results of the football season weren't what we had hoped, but the Bengals gave it their all. Next, the cheerleaders showcased a dance routine they had performed at a competition. It was a surprise when the cheerleaders teamed up with some Boys Varsity Soccer players and did a dance routine to the popular song "Fergalicious." The toilet paper event was also entertaining. We are sure that everyone enjoyed watching the Diman staff, including Mr. Mahoney, Mr. Bentley, Mr. Allan, Mrs. Noversa, and Mr. Vickrey, being wrapped up in toilet paper! The Boy's Cross Country team was also recognized for their great season.
Overall, the pep rally was a hit. We hope to continue on with pep rallies as a tradition at Diman , mainly because it brought everyone together in raising school spirit. We hope that next year's football season will be even better than the last!
