A Tribute to Angela Durfee

Tyler Souza '08

Angela will be missed

There are many things that our parents wish for us: to go through school, then college, and make something of ourselves. They hope to have grandkids, and hope to see us happy for the rest of their lives.

No parent should have to bury their baby, their pride and joy. I think about all the things Angela wanted to do, the high hopes her parents had for her, and everyone who looked up to her. She wanted nothing more than to just have fun.

Whenever I saw her, she was happy.

You're not supposed to pass before your parents. That's just not how it goes. I think of everything Angela had been through, and how people sometimes treated her, and she was still happy.

Now, everything in her life that she wanted to accomplish, she can't.

Every parent dreams of seeing their child cross the stage as their baby, a graduate, an adult. But Angela's parents won't get this chance.

For all of you who drive, speeding is not the way. You don't need to risk your life for money, or school-it's not worth it. It's not worth the risk of losing your life. Just think of all the people you would be leaving behind. Think of all the friends you would never want to lose. How would they feel if they lost you?

For everyone who knew her and those of you who didn't, she was a great person, and a really good friend. I was someone who made fun of Angela freshman year. But people change. I got closer to her and we became good friends and I for one wish she could still be with us.

For her parents, I'm sorry for your loss.

For her friends, I'm sorry too.

For the people she didn't know, I'm sorry you never met her.

Rest in Peace.
