Skills USA contestants celebrate victory in Kansas City

I recently interviewed Mr. Bentley about the SkillsUSA National Conference that was held at the end of the school year last year in Kansas City, Missouri, from June 19-24th. Mr. Bentley accompanied his Opening and Closing Ceremony Team as their advisor. After placing first at the State Competition, they were off to prove themselves at the National Conference. Mr. Bentley was very excited to share his experiences, and allowed me the privilege of seeing his pictures and some magazines from the trip. Here's what he had to say:

Q: How many Diman students traveled to the National Conference?

A: There were 17 students altogether. 12 were Diman students and 5 were LPN students. They were accompanied by 7 advisors.

Q: How long was the plane ride, and how were the accommodations?

A: The plane ride was 5 hours. In my opinion the hotel was the nicest of all the hotels that Skills USA has ever been held at. It was very elegant and consisted of indoor waterfalls, an indoor mall, and about ten different diners and restaurants.

Q: What was your best memory from the trip?

A: The outdoor concert was one of my best memories. It was a lot of fun! Also, when the students got on stage to receive their awards. It was a nice moment that they will never forget!

The Tradesman extends its congratulations to all the Skills USA contestants. Great work!
