Attn: Grade 09 students enrolled in United States History I and entering United States History II for the 2009-2010 school year.

Assignment Summary: For this assignment you will be required to read a book selected by the History Department. The book is title, Hitch and it pertains to the Great Depression in the United States. Upon returning to academics from summer vacation, students will be issued an Exam on the book by their History instructor. The Exam will count as 15% towards your first Trimester grade.

** Please be advised that the exam pertaining to your summer reading will be administered during the first academic cycle of school. The exact exam date will be determined by your History instructor. Therefore, have your book read BEFORE the start of school.

Attn: Grade 10 students enrolled in United States History II and entering Contemporary United States History for the 2009-2010 school year.

The book is title, Fire From The Rock and it pertains to the Civil Rights Movement in America during the 1950’s. Upon returning to academics from summer vacation, students will be issued an Exam on the book by their History instructor. The Exam will count as 15% towards your first Trimester grade.
