OPACOPAC (On-Line Public Access Catalog) is the index to most of the materials in our library. This electronic catalog may be searched by title, author, subject, keyword, series, catalog, call #, etc. Electronic DatabasesAn electronic database is a collection of records organized by some logical process. The information in the database is usually indexed and can be easily searched. Many electronic databases are available on-line, on a subscription basis. We subscribe to EBSCOhost, a database designed for high school students. This database provides full text for over 500 popular interest and current events periodicals. It also provides full text reference books, pamphlets, primary source documents, photos, maps and flags. SEMLSWe are a member of SEMLS (SouthEastern Massachusetts Regional Library System). Membership in this multi-type library system will give us access to online reference databases, both in-library and from home. We will also be able to borrow library materials from other SEMLS members. Citing Sources for Research Papers, Projects, and AssignmentsWhenever you quote, paraphrase, summarize, or refer to the work of another person, you are required to cite its source. Failure to cite the source of other's ideas and work is called plagiarism. There are many formats and styles to use in citing sources. Teachers will usually provide guidelines in the citation style they want you to use in their classes and help can also be found in the library. The following websites may be also be used to get help in the citation of sources: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
