SkillsUSA Job Skills Demonstration Videos
The Diman Chapter of SkillsUSA conducted its 24th annual SkillsUSA Job Skills Demonstration Contest on February 12, 2009. The three contests held were Job Skills Demonstration A, Job Skills Demonstration Open and Action Skills. We had eleven competitors that represented their perspective shops with pride and professionalism.
A Job Skills Demonstration is a presentation of an occupational skill accompanied by a clear explanation of the topic through the use of examples, experiments, displays or practical operations.
Contestants are evaluated on their ability to demonstrate and explain an entry-level skill used in the occupational area for which he or she is training. The Job Skills A and Action Skills contestants must demonstrate a skill related to their occupational area. The Job Skills Open contestants have the choice of demonstrating a skill related to their occupational area or any skill outside his or her occupational training area.
The contestants that finished in first place in each contest will represent Diman Regional at the State Leadership Competition to be held in Marlboro on April 30, 2009. They will compete against students from other trade and vocational schools for the privilege to compete at the National Competition in Kansas City, MO in June as a member of Team Massachusetts.
