Music Review - Mariah Carey: The Emancipation of Mimi

Mariah Carey

Released this year, it shows Mariah's old style of music combined with today's new modern Hip-hop beats. This album features Hip-hop greats such as Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Nelly and Twista. This album applies to more than one music genre. It shows Mariah's soft side, which is exhibited in the hit "We belong Together". Co-written by her this ballad reminds old fans of her chart topping hits.

The first song she released from the album was "It's like that". This song won the liking of Hip-hop listeners and featured Jermaine Dupri. The most recently released song is "Shake it off", a mixture of Hip-hop and pop.

Overall, I believe this album to be one of her best. It exhibits where she is, has been and where she will go in her music career.
