McGoverns Offers A Tasty Variety

Ever have craving for some good fish and chips. Well I got the place just for you. I went to a restaurant called McGoverns on Shove Street in Fall River. They have a large array of seafood. I also know for a fact that the fish is fresh because I know someone who is very close to the family whom owns it and they get their fish every two or three days from the market down the street.

The environment of McGoverns depends on the time of year you go. I went in the beginning of February so the flags they have up were pink and had hearts on them. During Easter they have bunnies and birds and during St. Pattie's day ... well you get the picture. Anyhow, the environment is very pleasant and homey. It has a warm atmosphere with good smells everywhere. And the hosts or hostess was right there to seat us when we got in; there was barley a wait at all.

The food is exceptional. The fish and chips are probably some of the best I have had in town. For an appetizer I had the buffalo tenders. If you have a taste for hot and spicy things these are for you. A small order consists of four large chicken filets smothered in a thick spicy sauce accompanied with two containers of bleu cheese dressing, carrot sticks, and celery. The fish and chips were servered on a large plate with first a layer of fries, which were really good, then two medium sized filets of cod, then for a garnish they put a lemon and a little leaf.

Above all the cost of the entire meal was maybe $15-$20. So it is a nice place to eat with a nice environment and hosts and hostesses that are right there for you. The food is quick in coming and delicious.
