Disney 'Grad Night' Trip Offered for First Time to Diman Seniors

by Hina Naveed '08

Goofy and Pluto wait to greet Diman seniors at Grad Night '08

While wandering the halls at Diman, you have probably observed the various "Disney Grad Night" signs adorning the walls, specifically at the crossroads. It is easy to see why one's curiosity would be aroused: the posters depict exuberant teenagers having the time of their lives, enjoying the company of people they like and avoiding the presence of overzealous parents.

For the first time, Diman's senior class has decided to participate in the Grad Night experience. With a lot of effort by Mr. Keough, other faculty members, as well as volunteer students, this event has been carefully planned to include as many fun activities possible in a safe and harmless environment. The details for Disney's 2007 Grad Night are as follows. The departure date will be April 23, 2007 with a return date of April 27, 2007. These dates fall during Spring break. The total cost of $850 has been broken up into 5 payments, and includes airfare, a 4-star hotel room for 4 nights right in Disney, all park admissions, all meals, blast-off party, the actual Grad Night Admission, and all Bus transportation.

For the actual Grad Night festivities on April 25th, the Disney parks will be closed to the public from 8pm to 4 a.m. the next morning. Only high school seniors and their chaperones will be in the park! There will also be several concerts going on, including The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Ne-Yo. These artists will be performing live exclusively for students!

All in all, this is an opportunity that should not be missed and it is well worth the cost to be able to enjoy April vacation with your friends. Parents should not have any complaints because there is staff supervision and everyone will be accounted for. Incoming seniors, keep this opportunity in mind and you can already start saving!

Again, Diman can be thankful to Mr. Keough for bringing this opportunity to our students and putting forth the effort required to pull through an amazing trip such as this.
