Around Diman: Get Involved

by Daniel Hollenbach '09

The school year has started again and so have Diman fall sports. Football, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, and Volleyball are the sports available for students this season. I've been a writer for the Tradesman for two years, and during my freshman year I joined the drama club. But this year, I joined the football squad, and want to encourage other students to get involved at Diman.

Joining any team around the school can be fun if you want it to be. The sports teams are a good way to have fun, meet new people, and be a true "Bengal". Most of the sports do take time and commitment, but trust me, playing in a football game is one the most fun experiences I've ever had at Diman. You are only in high school once, so why not live it up?

Besides sports, there are clubs you can join if you are not an athletic person. The Yearbook Club puts together the schools' yearbook. The Spotlight Club takes you on trips to UMASS Dartmouth, New York City, and Harvard University. The Key Club is a great way to volunteer your time to fund raisers for the needy. Finally, there's the Tradesman, so come write for the school newspaper. And these are just a few ways to get involved. To see them all or for more information, log onto the Diman website www.dimanregional.org . Let's get out there and show the other schools what it means to be a part of the Diman Family.
