This year's Homecoming Dance was once again held at White's of Westport, and once again the event was completely sold out. The Homecoming King and Queen were chosen, and Jonathan Ferreira and Carina Moreira were chosen for 2006! Their court consisted of Kelby Costa and Alyssa Riley coming in second, and rounding out third place were Joseph Pereira and Chantel Roebuck.
Homecoming is all about eating and dancing, and this year's buffet was great. There were a variety of foods for everyone's tastes. Once the music started up, you could see the excitement on people's faces. Homecoming Dance feels like the kick off for all the events of the school year and gives everyone something to look forward to. Considering the fact that the dance floor was very small for the number of people there, it didn't make a difference. There was hardly anyone sitting down, and everywhere you looked, people were dancing, some of them not even on the dance floor!
Homecoming is an awesome night to just hang out with friends, eat some good food and definitely to just dance the night away. In the end, though, the Homecoming Dance was a lot of fun and another memory to add on to your high school years. These years only happen once, so encourage your friends, even the ones who don't like dances, to come next year! Believe me, it's worth it.
