Diman Regional Selected as "Compass School"
 |
Congratulations to Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, who was recently honored by Diman's appointment as a 2007 Commonwealth Compass School by the Massachusetts Department of Education. The DOE chooses schools each year based on students' performance and improvement on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS). The Compass School Program is a component of the Commonwealth's School and District Accountability System that is designed to "recognize, celebrate, and support significant and continuous improvement in public schools across Massachusetts." Diman was awarded a $2,500 grant to help sustain improvement efforts. Department heads for the English and Mathematics Departments, along with Superintendent-Director Rogerio Ramos and Assistant Superintendent-Director/Principal Brian Bentley, have been invited to a February luncheon at the State House in Boston along with Governor Patrick and the Commissioner of Education, David P. Driscoll. Great work!
