The New Creed: A Review of 'Alter Bridge'
Jordan Shadburn, '10
How many albums have just one song capable of stopping you dead in your tracks on the first listen? Not many, that's for sure. But Alter Bridge's debut album entitled "One Day Remains" gives you goose bumps the first time you hear it and never fails to give you the same feeling, every time you press play.
If you already haven't noticed, I am absolutely mesmerized by the debut release of Alter Bridge's album. It is simply a phenomenal rock record. I got their album the day it was released and I've never listened to anything else written as well, lyrically or musically. Songs like "In Loving Memory" or "Broken Wings" have so much meaning and brilliance. But when I found out that Alter Bridge consisted of three former members of the world famous equally great band Creed, it came as less of a shock.
Honestly, I haven't heard a better band. I bought this album the day it came out and I have been hooked ever since. The entire thing form start to finish is absolutely perfect. Whenever I listen to Alter Bridge, it brings me to a place that I didn't think music had the ability to take me to.
I am encouraging you to go pick up Alter Bridge's debut album entitled "One Day Remains." I can promise you that you would be glad that you did. I recommend this album to anyone who likes loud guitars, soaring vocals, and lovely melodies. When you finally fall in love with Alter Bridge, remember the feeling that you get from listening to them for the first time. Remember how glad you are that you spent twelve dollars on an amazing, moving CD.
