Madden NFL '07: A Gamer's Review
Dan Hollenbach '09
We all know the routine of these game makers by now. Every year Tiburon games adds a little something and improves upon last year's version by doing away with something. This year Tiburon really tightened their thinking caps and have introduced some cool new concepts.
The most game-altering addition is dubbed a "run to daylight' system which which introduces lead blocking control and the new highlight stick. Lead highlighting allows you to forget about running the ball and instead focus on creating a huge hole for your ball carrier to charge through.
In the Hall of Fame version you get to choose your parents so that you pop out all ready to start out as a rookie and work your way up by showing off your skills. This version also has a little science in it because you inherit your Parents' DNA which determines what kind of player you will be.
Visually this game looks great, in terms of animation and players. There are lots of new jukes, power moves, tackles, hits and dives, so this version has upped the ante in terms of sheer realism. The game is clean and fast and load times are better. Overall, I would give Madden NFL '07 a 9 out of 10.
