    Diman students cook up Bristol Aggie-raised tilapia

    The 132 tilapia that students in Scott Botelho’s culinary arts class at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School learned how to filet Wednesday morning were swimming less than two hours before they were delivered to their kitchen. “They got here at 9:30 this morning, and were swimming at 8 this morning. It doesn’t get much fresher than that,” Botelho said. (4/17/16)

  • Swansea softball benched by Diman

    The Diman Building and Property Maintenance program recently built five picnic tables for the Swansea Girls Softball League. The tables were constructed using pressure treated lumber and were designed to last for many years. (4/15/16)

    Diman Dental (is) Assisting the world’s poor

    Diman’s Dental Assisting program is at it again. Just six months after raising $750 to provide cleft lip surgery for three children in the third world, the department has donated 294 toothbrushes and 93 tubes of toothpaste to be sent to Honduras. (4/14/16)

  • Breaking stereotypes while breaking bread

    Changing gender stereotypes isn't easy, but Diman has been doing its part to provide opportunity for all students to pursue their dreams. Recently, Diman hosted a Non-Traditional Student Summit of 65 people from 6 different schools, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and Jeff Perrotti - Director, Safe Schools Program for LGBT Students.     Swansea student to sing for SkillsUSA

    Diman is thrilled to announce that junior Dental Assisting student Brittney Batista has been chosen as the winner of the National Anthem Contest for SkillsUSA. Brittney will sing the National Anthem at the 2016 State Leadership & Skills Conference on Saturday, April 30th in front of a live audience of over 5,000 and to thousands that will be watching the live streaming feed online.     Biotechnology honor will help Diman program grow

    The way Dylan Barcelos, a sophomore at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, sees it, the learning that goes on in a science classroom and a vocational shop at his school “go hand-in-hand.” “The vocational aspect really helps,” Barcelos said, because it provides “experience working with our hands.” (3/31/16)

    Diman thanks Lowe’s for shop improvement

    Lowe’s beheld the results of their financial support on Tuesday, March 22, when the new Engineering/Technology Center was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Diman’s Machine Tool Technologies shop. The new center was funded by a $25,000 grant from Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation that was administered by SkillsUSA. (3/23/16)
